About Us

The mission of the Four Oaks Area History Foundation is to preserve the history and cultural heritage of the community of Four Oaks, NC. We exist to educate citizens and promote a general interest in, and appreciation for, the history and traditions of the town of Four Oaks and surrounding areas.

We hope to eventually have the capacity to preserve and ultimately exhibit artifacts of cultural and historical significance related to the community of Four Oaks, NC.

The Foundation also endeavors to support sites of cultural and historical significance to the Four Oaks area and communities, so that they may be appreciated by future generations.

The Four Oaks Area History Foundation grew out of a concern to preserve the history and cultural heritage of the Four Oaks area. Jim Best, the father of the foundation, had a desire to not only preserve items related to Four Oaks history but also to eventually display them in a museum.
